Polygon Count Limits

To ensure a smooth gameplay experience, all custom content on The Sims Resource is categorised into Low, Medium, and High Performance based on polycount. These limits help creators and players understand how detailed and optimised a piece of CC is.

• Low Performance: Highly optimised content with minimal impact on gameplay. These items have the lowest polycount and are ideal for players prioritizing performance.
• Medium Performance: A balanced level of detail, offering a good mix of quality and performance. This custom content runs well on most systems.
• High Performance: Highly detailed, complex meshes that may affect game performance, especially on lower-end PCs. These items are still allowed but should be used cautiously, as excessive polycount may lead to longer load times and increased memory usage.

Below are the polycount limits for each CC category, so you can easily determine where a CC item falls. This shows how performance-friendly your downloads are.

* Object polycounts are set per in-game grid square (floor tile).  That means a 3-tile sofa can have an LOD0 limit of 3x2000 (ie, 6,000 polygons), etc. The height of the item is not considered.
